Material Maker & Researcher
Anoushka is a material researcher and multidisciplinary maker whose work spans art and design contexts. With a background in textiles she has a focus on material cultures and the importance of tacit knowledge and accessible modes of research.
She has an interest in education methodologies, and concern for displacing knowledge from traditional artistic institutions. With a passion for sustainability and resource use, her practice often focuses around working with uncommon materials and re-learning bygone crafts.

She holds an MA in Material Futures from Central Saint Martins and a BA in Textile Design. Her work includes a number of personal projects, clients briefs,  and material workshops and education sessions for students and industry.

Material Lab Curator
Anoushka set up a Material Lab and Material Library at Green Lab in London which launched in early 2019. The Material Lab is a space for experimental material research, encouraging practitioners to explore the notion of what a material can be and often diverting waste streams into creating something of value. The Material Library is a physical documentation of newly developed material alternatives. Sourcing samples from both small scale practitioners at the early stage of their material developments to larger companies producing materials for industry, the library showcases the sustainable material options being developed and researched.

Art work & Illustration
Anoushka also creates drawings, illustrations, paintings and prints. Her biggest collection to date has a focus on the sea and documents the various species that inhabit our oceans. With a love for the stark contrast of black and white most of her work focuses on intricate representations of her subject. Based at Bainbridge Studios in West Norwood most of her work is screen printed in limited editions.
